Description
The Ahfad Journal: Women and Change started in 1984 with
Dr. Lee G. Burchinal, then a professor at the Ahfad University for
Women, as the founding editor. When he returned to the United States
in 1987, Dr. Amna Badri, then Associate Professor and Vice President
for Academic Affairs, became and has remained the editor. Since
its inception in 1984, The Ahfad Journal: Women and Change has
been the only scholarly journal published on a regular basis in
Sudan.
The Ahfad Journal: Women and Change is published twice
a year, in June and December. Articles are in English with Arabic
and English abstracts. Each issue contains 4 to 6 articles, 8 to
12 summaries of senior research projects conducted by Ahfad students,
3 or 4 book reviews, and news about developments at the Ahfad University
for Women.
Contents
The tables of contents of issues published since June, 1996 (Vol.13,
No. 1), can be viewed on this site. In addition, a Key Word Index
allows identification of articles in all issues published from 1984
(Vol. 1) through December, 2003 (Vol. 20, No. 2).
Submitting
Manuscripts
Manuscripts on topics affecting women in developing countries or
on the contributions of women to rural and national development
may be submitted for review at any time. Authors are asked to adhere
to the style described on the inside front and back covers of the
journal and to send two copies of a typed manuscript or, preferably
their manuscript in electronic form (disk, CR ROM, or by an email
attachment) to:

Subscriptions
The library rate for an annual subscription to The Ahfad Journal:
Women and Change is $40.00 (U.S.). Individual subscriptions
are $25.00 (U.S.) per year. These prices include airmail delivery.
Back issues are available at the price of $20.00 (U.S.) per issue.
Discounts are available for multi-year back orders.
